Does VeylarkBot replace my mods?
No. It takes the routine off their hands. Decisions about timeouts and bans stay with you.
Describe in one sentence what should stay out of your chat. VeylarkBot recognises it however it is phrased and replies kindly. The example chat shows how it scores every message.

The same question comes in a hundred variants. Put “minecraft” on a word list and you delete the viewer raving about yesterday's stream while “mc stream when??” slips through. Mods end up sorting by hand again.
VeylarkBot reads the meaning. A rule is one sentence, the way you would explain it to a new mod, plus a few examples of what should match and what shouldn't. Every message gets a confidence between 0 and 1; only above your threshold does anything happen.
For fixed terms like links or names, the word list stays. It is fast, needs no AI and keeps running even when the month's quota is used up.
| Message in chat | Word filter “minecraft” | VeylarkBot |
|---|---|---|
| when are you playing minecraft again? | deleted | deleted |
| mc stream when?? | missed | deleted |
| is the block game coming back soon | missed | deleted |
| minecraft yesterday was so much fun | deleted | stays |
Illustrative example with the default threshold 0.80.

1 Log in with Twitch. VeylarkBot joins your channel as a bot, with the rights a mod has.
2 Describe it in one sentence. The assistant turns it into a rule with examples and asks at most twice.
3 Test, then switch it on. New rules only write to the log at first. Once everything fits, you switch them live.
6 veylark.tech, Issue 10/2026How it works 7
A bot in your own chat needs trust. That is why VeylarkBot is built to be careful: the default is deleting plus a friendly reply; timeouts and bans only exist if you switch them on deliberately.
If the model isn't sure, it only flags the message and you decide. If the AI can't be reached, VeylarkBot doesn't step in at all. Every action is in the log; false alarms flow back into the rule as counter-examples.
8 veylark.tech, Issue 10/2026Strengths and limits 9
Billing is by checked messages. When the quota is used up, the bot doesn't switch off but keeps working with the word list.

No. It takes the routine off their hands. Decisions about timeouts and bans stay with you.
Rules check meaning, not single words. Paraphrases, abbreviations and typos are taken into account. Whatever it gets wrong, you correct with “False alarm”.
Yes. Veylark doesn't replace commands or timers, it adds topic moderation.
Messages are checked, not stored. Only messages with an action stay in your channel's log for 30 days.
